Amy,
This may be too simple, but have you thought of epoxy or Gorilla Glue to
repair whatever this plastic part is? Sometime that stuff works wonders,
but if the broken area (comprising the glued area) is too small, this
might not work. After many years of putting children's toys back
together epoxy can be a real miracle.
