I saw this coming a long time ago. However, I didn't want to wait and hold
my breath until it was finalized. I'm glad I took my cw exam and it's over
with. I guess there's a bunch of operators with equipment ready to operate
once they got the green light. I had no patients waiting that long. I
thought it would be longer yet.

it looks as though canada is the next in the line of countries to do =
away with the morse code requirement to get below 30MHZ.
The word is official from industry canada, the equivalent to the FCC, =
that those who were certified basic, similar to tech class in the US =
before april 2002 will be now qualified to operate below 30 megs, and, =
that those who were certified basic after april 2002 and scored 80 =
percent or better on their basic examination are now authorized to =
operate below 30 megs.
So, it looks like i have just become authorized to operate on =
HF...should be interesting to see how this is received in the ham =
community in Canada.
