Hi Guys,
I had a totally different situation but the same response. I had just
received a Kenwood TS520 back from being repaired. As I was taking it out
of the box on my bed, I heard a clunk. After getting rid of the box, I
turned the radio and heard the clunk again. That wasn't good. I didn't
know what it was but it definitely didn't sound good. I removed the screws
and unplugged the speaker in the top cover. Then turned the unit upside
down and out fell a clump of solder about the size of the end of my thumb.
I am glad I found it and not lit it up. Who knows what could have been
shorted out. 73.
Walt
