I do (besides imaging with Acronis) backup the registry with ERUNT, but I have always been a little leery of restoring one of the backups, because stuff has changed since the backup was done and I'm afraid it will make something unstable. What exactly happens when you restore a registry backup after you have been tootling along for a week or so? Should you uninstall anything you had installed, remove any hardware, etc?? AnnaSummers

Try booting into Safe Mode (hold down F8) so that you can run System
Restore. Otherwise, you'll need an emergency startup disk such as BartPE
and run System Restore from that, or a registry restoration if you have any
registry backups. Don Penlington
