A "really" short answer might be "on board cache" differences.
The Celeron has less, (similar to Semperon from AMD.)
The Pentium has more, (similar to Barton from AMD.)
More onboard cache "can be" better than more speed...
The only thing better than that is putting two CPUs on
the same die...
