American Airlines just called me to inform me that American has just
established a new policy. They will no longer offer special meals on any
flights and they have replaced ALL meals with the box lunch that is
really just a snack The agent told me that there is nothing in this box
lunch that I can eat;  She said they took a survey and most people had
said they'd prefer a low fare to a special meal. I told her that I was
immediately going to email this group and that American would lose1000's
of customers. I also told her that United has just added Gluten Free
meals. She said she would pass on my message although I have my doubts
that she will. Regrettably, I have a flight scheduled on American from
New York to Hawaii the end of June and was using my miles to get there.
Not including the stopover in Chicago it's a 13 hour flight; meager food
service for all those hours even for those who are not on a gluten free
diet. Please Protest!
