Tell your friend to do the following:

open up winamp; press "control p" which opens up preferences, with JAWS, he
/ she should hear "file types"; tab over to "all button", and hit enter.
There are other options there which, for the most part, are
self-explanatory, which can be checked or unchecked according to taste.

HTH!

John

Subject: [VICUG-L] Setting Wimamp as Default Player

Hello All:

I'm trying to help someone set Winamp as their default player on their
computer. The person said they were told to do this by pressing the
applications key somewhere, then going down to Audio and turning it off.
I'm not sure where they are supposed to be to do that.

We tried finding Winamp in Program Access and Defaults to set it as the
default, it didn't show up there with the usual radio button to select
it. The person does have Winamp on her computer. We went into Winamp
itself and there doesn't appear to be a place to set it as the default
player.

If anyone knows how I can direct this person to set Winamp as the
default, that would be great. The person is running Windows XP using
JAWS.

Thanks,
