Hello once again Doreen:

If you are using a later version on Windows such as XP and something later
than 98 you may have the program sound recorder as one of your programs. To
check do these steps:

To open Sound Recorder, click Start, point to Programs, point to
Accessories, point to Entertainment, and then click Sound Recorder.

It looks like you can record sound bites up to 15 seconds long.

If this does not work for you, you may need to take your problem public.
Use one of the public chat rooms at talking communities
www.talkingcommunities.com or any chat room using v o I p such as
www.opal-online.org

The idea here would be to get in early or come in late and ask folks to help
you test your microphone. You would be able to text chat your way to get
help.
