Hello Fellow Listers:

Two months ago, I purchased a sandisk "12 in 1" card reader, and have
subsequently been so impressed with it that I purchased another one for the
office so that I would only have to pack a compact flash memory card in my
briefcase.

My question is, now that I'll have card readers at both home and work: what
is the safest / most appropriate way to remove a memory card from a caard
reader which is continuously connected to a computer? My concern arises from
the fact that, with respect to the book port, for example, I am told to make
sure that the book port is off before removing the memory card from its
slot. Now, both my home desktop and my work computers are hardly ever turned
off.

Any help / advice / suggestions / input welcome!

John
