Yes! I get really pissed off about it too. The sad
thing is, that my mother has read Dr. Bernstein's book
on diabetes. I got it for her after much pressuring
to read on my part.
She read it and even said it made sense. But she says
she can't stick to low carb because it's too boring.
But I think being blind and having your leg amputated
would be much more boring than never having a donut
again.
But at the same time, she has it in her head that
corn, potatoes, whole grains and brown rice are "good
carbs" and that the body needs it. She also thinks
low carb is too high fat, and has too much red meat.
She thought South Beach was the best diet of all, but
now she does weight watchers. Argh!
