Howdy,

Last week I went to the Asian section of Dallas to stock up on GF basics.
The price difference is astounding. I do not buy from any of the online
services and only from the Health Food Store when it is an emergency. Here
are some examples of the prices.

Rice spaghetti 14oz $0.49

Rice flour 16 oz $0.41

Sweet rice flour 16oz $0.50

Rice vermicelli 14oz $1.89

Sushi Nori 50 sheets $5.09

Rice linguini 14oz $0.50

Mushroom Macaroni 14oz $1.39

Tapioca starch 16oz $0.59

Sweet potato noodle 14oz $1.29

Mung bean starch 16oz $3.09

Black bean garlic sauce gf $2.19

Rice dumplings 16oz $1.19

Sweet potato starch 14oz $0.99

The language barrier is too great to ask for any gluten free info. Import
stickers require ingredients to be listed in English. It is always an
adventure to go in. You will find different products in stores that cater to
Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese and there is always the Indian stores
for Gram (garbanzo) flour and Dal (lentil) flour.

The tapioca noodles are always sticky after they cook and the potato starch
noodles are more for cold noodle salads, so I don't buy much of those. The
rice spaghetti is almost indistinguishable from semolina spaghetti when it
is cooked enough. The black sticky rice is inexpensive and makes an unusual
purple rice pudding.

This is a great service with awesome info. 3 years gf (except for
unwelcome accidents) My family eats cheaper now because we rarely eat out
and gf is not hard to do from the grocery store. Sandwiches are a thing of
the past for me, I'll take corn tortillas and chips anytime.
