Hey-
I saw this on the www.helpforibs.com message board regarding Benefiber and
it was posted by the administrator.

It[Benefiber] is no longer guar gum. I talked to the company today, and the
new wheat dextrin is completely phasing out the guar gum.
They're two completely unrelated soluble fibers so I don't know how the
change will affect people who are used to the guar gum version. I haven't
seen the product on store shelves yet.
I'd be concerned if you're wheat intolerant, allergic, have celiac, etc. I
don't know if there is gluten in wheat dextrin or not.
