I received about twenty replies to my question about whether I could have had
Celiac Sprue or Tropical Sprue. It seems some folks think they are one and
the same. Tropical Sprue is treatable but has exactly the same symptoms. I did
have some folks suggest another antibody blood test which I think is a good
idea and simple to do so I will do it. I did not realize how many people were
able to eat gluten without symptoms. Apparently lots of people, but the
consequenses are the same. BAD!! Thanks for all the info folks. I am now better
educated. Incidentally I traveled in the parts of the world for many years where
Tropical Spue is prevalent and had GI problems many times because of it. LP
