The archives contain one post from 1999 indicating that Angostura Aromatic Bitters are gluten free, and another from 2002 indicating that the company reversed its position and now says that they are not gluten free, though no source of gluten was known of by the poster (ingredients are vague: an aromatic preparation of water, alcohol, gentian and vegetable flavoring extractives and vegetable coloring matter). There is no phone or web address on the bottle, just that it is manufactured by Angostura Limited Port of Spain, Trinidad, West Indies, for Angostura International Limited, Auburn, ME 04210.
Question:
Does anyone know if Angostura Bitters are gf?
Thanks.
Hilary
