Yes and accessing the mountains is much more difficult than accessing
the sand. Will Rogers should have one of those wheelchair carpets so
people can get to the sand. Water is a great equalizer for cp
especially of when the lower limbs are affected. With a life jacket
and very inexpensive equipment to float on most people would have a
great time. In France one of the most used therapies is walking in
the sand near the water. I do not think challenging high surf is wise
but many beaches are very calm.
Write or get on a mailing list for accessurf.org because I am pretty
sure one of the places it will soon expand to is Los Angeles. Letters
expressing how much you would like access or how helpful water is to
this condition will help raise funds.
