Hi All,
I posted this over on blind-l and got conflicting opinions so am asking this
list. I have one of the original Toshiba computers which was made with the
Keynote Gold speech as an integral part of it. I use this computer on field
day and other contests with TR Log. I want to use it here in the shack in a
similar manner but don't have room on the desk top in front of the radio to
set it and I don't like it blocking access to the controls for the rig.
This machine runs strictly DOS. I want to use an external keyboard with it
rather than the one built into the laptop but it has no external keyboard
plug on the back.
So here's the $64,000 question. Does anyone on the list know if there is
such a thing as a serial keyboard which might work with this older computer?
If not, is there any kind of serial keyboard driver for DOS which I could
load and then is there an adapter from the standard keyboard plug to serial?
Any other ideas if these don't work? My big problem is that I no longer own
a stand alone synthesizer so I can't really contemplate a different laptop
and my main computer does not seem to work well with CW for contesting from
TR.
Our own Butch Bussen says I am fighting a losing battle but I would welcome
any other opinions here as well. Thanks much everyone and very 73.
Kevin :)
