icom 2720 or 2027 what ever it is, the duel bander has a standard telephone
plug from he face plate to the radio but the standard RJ045 mic plug so it
is doable since all controls on that radio are on the face plate and the mic
connector is on both the radio and the face so you have a choice. Too bad
that's not a little more accessible, that might be a good mobile setup,
would not be handy in the shack, we have them at the EOC and the face is
constantly falling and in the way but mobile, I think it would work out very
well.

Howard,

If they had put the Mic jack on the control head, they would have had to
use a cable with more conductors to go from the head to the radio.  That's
probably why they didn't do it.  I'm not thrilled with that design, but I
don't think they had much choice.
