Well the programming cable for the IC-T90A should only plug into the mic jack and if it's the one for that rig then it should fit into the mic jack.  I'll check when get home with my cable for my IC-T90A; but, am almost certain it only plugs into the mic jack.  Now for the other end.  Does that cable have a 9 pin serial plug on it?  If so then are you using a serial to usb adaptor which you'll need the the drivers for the usb adaptor in order to make it work which is what am using on my notebook computer and it works just like a serial cable would if had a serial connector on the notebook or laptop.  But, I had to install drivers so that the notebook computer would recognise the adaptor.  Then it didn't matter which usb port plugged the cable into as the usb ports act just like serial ports which in my case have four usb ports and when plug the cable into one of them then they are serial ports one through four.  Then you have to go into the programming software and choose the appropriate port from the drop down menu which again wil have to check wwhen get home from work.  Then once that's done you're good to go like had the serial port and connection.

So see if any of that works or is missing and wil get with you off list later today or this weekend when get home from work.

Subject: ict90a program

Hello I am trying to use the program SC-ict90a.

I have the program installed and have what I was told was the wright cable
by Icom.

but do to the fact that my lap top

does not have the same connecter as the cable I was able to connect another

cable to it to make it USB.

Ok so now I have it plugged to the computer.

And enless I am not seeing a port on my radio I have the headphone jack and

something I do not know what it is.

But the cable will not go in this last one it will only go in the headphone

jack.

I have an adapter that will let the cable fit in this jack that is not the

headphone.

But when I try to use the program and it wants me to pick what computer port

I am using it says can not access port.

the program gives me four ports to pick from but noun of them can be

accessed.

I do not know if this is because if this is from all the adapters I had to

use to get everything to go together or if I got sent the wrong cable in the

first place.
