Anthony, I have the 7600GR and the ATS-818 and I've read lots about the 909.
Between the 7600 and the 818 it would be hard for me to choose between one
or the other, I think they are both great radios.
The 818 and 909 of course will sound better when listening via the built-in
speaker. The speaker on the 7600 is much smaller than the Sangean radios.
The 909 has a tuning knob and the Sony does not. The 7600GR has a synch
detector which really helps in certain situations. But the 7600 doesn't do
so good on FM (it's easily overloaded) so if this is important to you I
think the 909 will be better on FM
I think it really comes down to portability verses sound quality.
Hope this helps, Ken -N5SWR
