First, there are no stations in my area transmitting digital AM, so I
haven't actually heard the extra noise they generate, thus I can't answer
exactly how they sound in rtty mode.

Phil, tune in 3.995 any evening and see how the digital signal from Germany
compares with what you are hearing on AM.

It's center frequency is 3.995, but here in Mississippi, it wipes out
anything above 3.990 on 75 meters.

My other thought is do you have any BPL tests going on in your area?
