I'm getting the 706, it's not as portable, but it will fit in the carrying
case for the 703, in fact I just bought that setup just in case they decide
to discontinue that one on me tomorrow, now it will be around for another 10
years, but anyway, on battery power I'll just keep the power cranked way
down, it will come in more handy for me in the long run too the only problem
is I need an external tuner. I'll probably look at the LDG one or what ever
it is that people talk about on this list a lot, or the smart tuner, big
$$$ but we'll see what happens, I'm broke now until mid spring early summer
anyway and I want to get a small power supply, like a 20 amp switching
supply for when commercial power's available anyway because I can't lug the
Astron RS-35 on vacation with me, it's too bulky and I'm as limited for
space as I can be in that cottage. I'll leave the boom box home this year
and replace it with the 706, which can be used as my AM/FM radio anyway and
the laptop works for playing CD's so I'm set for my entertainment, only
thing I'll miss is tapes and that's no big loss.
