John,

I have been using the same headset for well over a year with several sound
cards and love it. If you can still get it it's not very expensive and a
very good set with stereo headphones with a boom microphone. Also has
in-line volume and mike mute. The set is a plantronics .audio 90. I bought
it from CDW and you may find it in other places.

Gary

Subject: headphones reccomendation

Hi all, a lot of you use skype and echolink so I figured I'd ask, does
anyone know where I can get a good, decent sounding set of headphones with
the mic for my computer? I got a pair at radio shack a while ago, cost me
about $40 and they were perfect but they broke, they only now have a cheap
pare which I got on sale, but there's a major impedance mismatch with my
computer's headphone jack I believe, I have the sound plaster live platinum
sound card with the headphone and mic jack on the front and these just don't
cut it, I got a set on Amazon' which I've been using, they're better, but
still not the radio shack ones I had and they are very uncomfortable after a
little while, I'm sorry I forget the name on them, the little cheap radio
shack ones I use on my laptop now BTW where it works just fine. Anyway, I'm
not going to spend a fortune on them, but if anyone has recommendations,if
I'm going to use a mic I'd much rather them be on a headset, and if it
didn't have the volume control on the cord, that would be nice too but it
can, I have one on the computer though and don't need both. Thanks, I hope
I can find a good set that sounds good, no luck so far.
