Hi Lou,

I've worn aids for years and never had much of a problem.

I did get a little interference once when I was running 2 kw ssb, on 20 I think, but it really wasn't very bad at all.

I don't know about interference with digital aids though.

As for vhf/uhf, I've never experienced a problem at all.

Usually, if there is going to be a problem it's when the tele-coil on the aids is turned on.

This is why many cell phones cause a problem for aid wearers.

It will depend on which phone she is using, and if she is thinking of getting a new phone, I strongly advise trying it before making a real commitment. Most
phone dealers will let you do this. I try them right in the store to avoid much of the hassle of taking them back later.

The phones on the gsm/gprs networks such at Cingular and t-mobile seem to be worse than those on such carriers as Sprint or Verizon for example.

It really is a game of trial and error though unfortunately.

Hi to all.

My sister just got her hearing aids today. She is also a ham. Has anyone
had any issues with using amateur radio transceivers around hearing
aids? I might suspect that especially at VHF and UHF this could be a
problem. How about cell phones?
