I use a variety. I have some old NetGear ones from my first network,
(years ago). They seem to work fine and are high quality.
I tended to get the Intel 1G cards, after their price dropped.
(Intel Pro 1000MT + others.)
If you stick with a well known brand, you should do fine...
(If you buy older ones, be sure the drivers are available for your OS...)
I would look for a good price "first" and research if "that unit" was any good.
This is a good way to get the really good "deals"...
(All my current NICs are out of production, so my numbers would not be much
help...)
