Dear List,

You have helped me in the past, I need your help now. My 7 year old grandson
needs your assistance. I have tried to talk to my daughter about all of this
and it has always just led to frustration, so I quit. She has several medical
problems - she realizes that it is somehow related to family history, but
that's it. I am Celiac, my sister has Fibromyalgia<-- with all of the other
complications that go with it, her daughter died with Systemic Lupus. One of my
other daughter's has Crohn's Disease. My maternal Grandmother died in diabetic
coma when she was just 33 years old. Her mother died at a really young age of who
knows what... We have lots of "family history"...

Here's the "present problem." Both of this daughter's boys, ages 4 and 7 have
severe constipation. The doctors that they have seen for it just say to give
them mineral oil or suppositories and in time their bodies will mature and
they will be okay.... Both boys have had major dental problems<-- you can only
imagine what the dentists say about that one. Now, the 7 year old is being
tested at his school, and was referred to a Dr. because of his learning
difficulties and emotional responses to situations. At age 7 is at a 4 or 5 years olds
level.

Can anybody share any experiences/knowledge with me that I can pass on to
her... His new doctor is asking about a family history of bipolar disorder! If
that little guy is put on "big guns type medications" I will be so upset, I
won't know how to deal with it. She says that she doesn't want that to happen, and
I am hoping that she will be more receptive to having him tested for Celiac,
and other medical conditions.

Can somebody help him?

Thank you so much,

Jerri
