CELIAC HOLIDAY SOCIAL
Sunday, December 5th, 2004
3:00 - 6:00 pm
7365 Hidden Knolls Court
Springfield, Virginia
Welcome adults, teens and children with Celiac Disease (and family members)
to
an informal holiday gathering.
Make new friends and ask questions about the celiac diet and safe holiday
foods.
Our last social was a tremendous success thanks to the wonderful efforts of
the
Philippsen family. This gathering was especially beneficial to the newly
diagnosed; meeting other celiacs who have been on a gluten free diet for
many
years and letting them know they have our support, knowledge and
encouragement.
I'll be bringing information on the gluten-free diet, recipes, shopping
information about local health food/grocery stores, and info on mail order
companies.
To assist, we ask that you bring your favorite mail order or local store
food
item to share with fellow celiacs.
This can be:
- Your favorite GF pre-made bread
- Most popular pre-made GF snack or cookies
- GF Soft Drink or other beverage
Our hostess, Judith Young and our board members will be cooking up a few
holiday treats, but we thought it would be a great exchange of
experience for everyone to bring their favorite "find" from their local
health food or mail order company.
