Hi Flor:
It's Windows XP. I know how to figure out the path, what I'm wanting to
know is instead of having to remember the path or write it down, is
there a way to capture the full path and then paste it into the edit
field for Open Book's default file location.
Thanks,

What Windows operating system is she using? This will effect what the
file location path in My Documents is. In Windows 9X, it is (without
the quotes) "c:\My Documents" .
In Windows XP, it will (without the quotes) be: "c:\Documents and
Settings\UserAccountName\My Documents" where the User Account Name
should be the name of the person, computer, group, etc. for whom things
have been set up. If we don't know the user name, we can find it by
opening Windows Explorer, C, Documents And Settings; and it will be
among the list of folders there. It is expanded, as usual, with the
right-arrow key.

Subject: [VICUG-L] Looking For An Easier Way to Do Something in
Open Book
Hello All:
I was talking with someone who wants to change the default
location
where documents are saved in Open Book. Right now, she has the
default
which is:
C:\openbk7\users\library.
She'd like to change the default so documents are saved in "my
Documents." When we went into the General Settings under the
settings
menu of Open Book, I saw a place to change the default file
location.
However, it appears you need to know the full path to the folder
you
want to change it too. So, what I'm asking, is there an easy
way to
grab the full path to the My Documents folder, capture it on the
clipboard, then paste it into the default file location setting
of Open
Book? This person also has JAWS as well. I wish Open Book were
like
other applications that allow you to make changes like this and
had a
browse button so you could find the folder you want to use.
Thanks,
