An ounce is 28.3 grams. A fluid ounce is 2 tablespoons. But you're
talking about grams of *protein*, not grams of meat. An ounce of 75% lean
beef only has about 4 grams of protein.

That's not really surprising. Eating more frequent meals is a good way to
lose weight. Digesting food requires calories. Make your system spend
more time in digestion for the same amount of calories, you'll have a
greater caloric deficit. Not to mention if you're only eating once a day,
you're spending the majority of your time fasting -- not the best way to
encourage the body to turn loose of excess fat stores. Add to that the
fact that for most people, evening is followed by rest and sleep, and
you're not burning much calories after the evening meal, either.
