I had just pondered the same thing -going protein/fat only- because I am not
seeing the results I would like to see. I have had a series of continuing
health problems and in December suddenly started gaining fat. My thighs
increased by almost and inch and it's not muscle. Now I am maintaining but
unable to lose it again.

The way I used to get lean is by cutting out all non-paleo carbs (before
paleo I was eating low carbs tortillas, low carb bars, etc.) AND keeping my
fat intake low at the same time. I used to eat lean meats only and add no
more than a tablespoon of oil per day. However, I have no desire to deprive
myself and my body like that again. From what I have read that's not healthy
either?!
