salmon farms are banned in alaska since 1989
there is lot of wild salmon fishing in alaska but farms are not far in
british colombia and alaskan fear problems from escaped atlantic salmons (

david suzuki who is against farming of salmon say that nearlly all cans
slamons are wild as the farmed kind is too mushy but farmed salmon is used
in salmon pate sold at very high prices

.if they specify the species it can be an indication to know if they are
farmed or not as most farmed
salmon are atlantic or chinook( king) and coho. sockeye ( very red ) pink
and chum are for
sure wild .if they don't specify it might be because they are farmed and
don't want peoples to find out .
