The idea I expressed about exchanging my life for Jennifer's the other day
as I prayed also brought some additional awareness. As I prayed, I told the
Lord, I would only offer my life for her if, number one, He would completely
and fully heal her and make her completely whole. Secondly, if she was not
going to live her life for Christ from that day onward, I was withdrawing my
offer. Selfish, I know, but after all, I was giving my life for someone
else to live. I figured I had some rights. I very quietly heard the Holy
Spirit saying inside of me, Jesus died knowing that many who came to Him
would not live for Him. Yet, He died for them anyway. Wow. That concept,
although certainly nothing knew to my theology, blew me away. Stop and
think about it. He still died and saved many while at the same time knew
that many, though born again, would not serve him.

Phil.
