Jenifer,

And you will surely need that help.  And God will be there with you and for
you.  I retired my first guide like that.  She was getting some bad
arthritis too.  She'd work for me, but her heart wasn't in it.  She had a
very good life at her retirement.  I think it's going to get easier to
retire each one.  But it never gets easier just because you've done it.
Lean on your friends too, as they'll walk with you through it too.  Some
schools even have a staff person, who is a guide dog user themselves, as a
resource.
