For those who are blind on echurch, I don't know if you have heard of the
Vorizon talking cell phone? It first uses voice recognition so you don't
have to dial individual phone numbers. That is, say, Phil Scovell, and it
will dial my home number. Of course, most newer cell phones already have
this feature. Mine does but mine does not have the other features I am
going to talk about. Sandy's new phone will speak and prompt her for a
command. It will speak the time, the incoming caller I D phone number, plus
the person's recorded name, if you have recorded it, and many other things.
For example, when it says command, you say voice mail, and it dials up your
voice mail for you automatically. It also has a built in digital camera.
This is especially useful for the blind user. A little tongue in cheek
there. It will also interface with the computer and load MP3 files but I
don't know it's total recording capacity. This is a fg 4500 phone. Most
places sell them for about 110 dollars with a 50 dollar rebate. Sandy has a
package plan from her place of employment and got the phone for just 50
dollars. This model is quite common now through Vorizon networks and outlet
stores. I've been told that even Radio Shack sells them.

Phil.
