Good Morning-
I have a question for you. How do you explain to your own family that
you cannot digest even a small amount of gluten? For example, we went
to church on Sunday and I did not partake in the communion (other than
the grape juice) because it was a loaf of bread and we were to break off
a piece and eat it. My niece looked at me like I was crazy because I
didn't take a crumb. Last night, I went to my sister's for beef BBQ.
She had the left the package mixture on the counter so I read the label
(she usually makes it from scratch) and wheat flour was an ingredient.
She told me she only used 1/2 the pack, so why couldn't I eat it - then
gets somewhat frustrated with me when I tell her I can't eat even a
little bit of gluten. (My symptoms are severe headaches and fatigue -
not the usual gastro ones, if I accidentally digest gluten. So my
family doesn't understand the severity and complexity of the disease.)
