As far as I know, the only 10000rpm SATA drive is the Raptor series from
Western Digital. I have two set up as a RAID 0 array on a SATA II board, so
the answer to your second question is yes. I have read the the 10000 rpm 74
GB Raptor is faster than the current crop of SATA II 7200 rpm drives (and
also faster than the 36 GB Raptor). Putting two Raptors in a RAID 0 should
be faster than a single SATA II drive. But be prepared to spend some cash.
The Raptors don't come cheap.
