It's not easy to find info on this computer without the serial number.
The S4000 is not listed on the support page, which is often the case
with discontinued models.

It would be difficult to advise you without basic info such as the
motherboard, CPU and OS.
In any case, a 5 year old proprietary computer is unlikely to be a good
candidate for upgrading.
Since you seem to be willing to open the case, this might be a good time
to look at building your own. Take a look at Tger Direct's barebones
kits:

Free PC Tech has a building guide:
http://freepctech.com/pc/002/New_PC_2004.shtml (There are many of
these on the web).
Tell us more about what you want from this PC and how much time/money
you have to spend and I'm sure you'll get some good advice.
