There is a useful discussion at the ISIS website on GM foods (which by their nature are non-Paleo)
and the possiblity of their allergenic properties :

http://www.i-sis.org.uk/ATPA.php

The article explores the link between the protein changes used to produce GM foods and the
proteins that cause allergens. For US readers, there is the warning that "In North America and
elsewhere, GM foods are not labelled and this may have led to the spread of allergens not
identified as having originating with the GM foods that may in fact be the case".

Although the article assumes some scientific training, the cautions made by the authors are crystal
clear to non-specialists.

See links on the sidebar to other articles on GM foods, human health and illness. A useful paper
linked in the sidebar is at:

http://www.i-sis.org.uk/meacher99.php

This is a briefing paper for the last-but-one UK Minister for the Environment on the topic of
Genetic Engineering; it explains comprehensively what GE is and is designed to introduce the topic
to a non-specialist audience.
