This is complete myth, as anyone who's ever been around chickens can tell
you. The nonsense you hear on TV!Different breeds of chickens lay different
colored eggs, that's all. They can range from white through blue-green to
beige and darker browns.
I'm sure that commercial white eggs are washed, possibly even with some
cleaning product, but they are definitely white to start with.
The health dangers have more to do with what the chickens are fed rather
than the color of the eggs--it's also a myth that brown eggs are somehow
healthier.
