I think that most of us can agree that FGM is a harmful practice that needs to be stopped.
The disagreement, though, might be how to go about doing it. And forcing youg girls to undergo
exames, as well as criminalization of the practice, I don't think will work. Because you're
demonizing groups of people, making as if they are inhamn or have no feelings, and I do not think
this is true.
The people who carry on this practice do so for a variety of reasons, and they have to be
convinced and shown how wrong it is. Telling them they are bad people, or that they do not love
their children, or whatever, is not going to work.
