Thanks for the forward from the Progressive Africans. Just one issue with the Progressive Africans; on the reported escape of Mr Daba Marena, Lt Ebou Lowe, 2nd Lt Alieu Ceesay, Warrant Officer Alpha Bah, and Staff Sergeant Manlafi Corr.
The APRC told the whole world that Daba and Co. escaped during a vehicle accident. However the APRC has not told the Gambian people:
1. Where the accident took place, after being challenged on this from many fronts.
2. Who were the other people involved in the reported accident.
3. What injuries, if any, that the other people sustained during the reported accident.
4. What is the registration number of the vehicle which was involved in the reported accident.
The Progressive Africans, since they are progressive, may be aware that all the Police Stations from Brikama to Fullabantang had been contacted, but none of them have had such an accident reported to them. The only information they have about the reported accident is what they have also heard from the news manufacturing machines of the APRC just like everyone else, that is, through the statement issued by the Office of the Inspector-General of Police on Wednesday night, April 5th 2006, signed by ASP A. Bojang, the Police Public Relations Officer.
As a result, the Progressive Africans can see that if they are most uncomfortable about the reports that Daba and Co. have been assassinated, the best they can do is to beg their APRC colleagues to tell the Gambian people:
1. Where the accident took place so that people can visit the place to verify, as a scene where a vehicle is said to have somersaulted would have such traces.
2. The names and addresses of the other people involved, including the driver of the vehicle (which was involved in the reported accident) so that they can interviewed about:
- what was the cause of the accident,
- did they sustain any injuries,
- any medical papers to show that they had medical consultation after the accident just in case,
- how did the vehicle find itself in the so-called ditch,
- how Daba and Co. escaped despite the deadly weapons of deterrence from such escape that they had, and so on and so forth.
4. The registration number of the vehicle which is reported to have been involved in the reported accident,
5. Where is this vehicle currently as the families of Daba and Co., journalists, representatives of human rights organizations and other people of conscience may want to see its condition?
6. Why the accident was not reported to any of the Police Stations?
7. Why transport Daba and Co. 300km away since they are expected to appear in court in Banjul to answer to whatever charges are/were concocted againts them.
The Progressive Africans should accept the fact that if the APRC Government does not tell the Gambian people any or all of the above brief seven points, the logical view of the people - eventually, naturally and most unfortunately - is that Daba and Co. have been murdered in cold blood.
The Progressive Africans, since they are progressive, must realize that the life of the human person is too sacred to be left to mere speculation as to whether one is dead or alive. Undoubtedly, such situations breed tyranny and the rule of might of the most ugly proportions.
The Progressive Africans, since they are progressive, must also understand that the APRC Government is not gaining anything from reports that they have killed fellow Gambian under their custody; that such a situation would only lead to the incrimination of the leaders in the APRC, their further international isolation and alienation from The Gambian people.
As a result, the Progressive Africans, since they are progressive, must also accept the fact that the APRC Government owes this information to the Gambian people and to humanity at large; and that if that information is not forthcoming, the only interpretation as to why it is not forthcoming, is that:
Mr Daba Marena,
Lt Ebou Lowe,
2nd Lt Alieu Ceesay,
Warrant Officer Alpha Bah, and
Staff Sergeant Manlafi Corr
MUST HAVE BEEN KILLED BY THE APRC ASSASSINATION MACHINERY!!!
AS THE TRUTH ABOUT AND THE MINUTE DETAILS OF THE SOBIBOS OF HITLER ARE KNOWN TODAY,
THE TRUTH ABOUT THE SO-CALLED ESCAPE OF DABA AND CO. AND OTHER REPORTS OF BRUTALISATION IN GAMBIA’S CENTRAL PRISON,
SHALL CERTAINLY ALSO BE KNOWN ONE DAY!!

What is going on within our citizenry is the saddest thing anyone can imagine. Since the foiled coup, Gambian papers and some of the “jotalanteh” outlets have been busy reporting things that make one wonder at times what the purpose of writing and reading is.
It is now a competition of who can put out the fastest lie to tarnish President Jammeh and make everyone in the Government look like a monster. Of course, with fairness,there are one or two who atleast get their stories verified.The least you can say about those few is they made the passing grade.The rest you wonder what is the gain for the daily embarassment of not being able to substantiate their reports;a fundamental of the trade,save for the Tabloids.
Recently, the Foroyaa paper reported that the Vice President was asked not report to work pending being investigated. The day I read that paper was the day I had a meeting with the Vice President. I was shocked and I called the Foroyaa only to have them tell me that it was a report yet to be confirmed.Well if anyone is to question what the motive of such a report is,the answer is simple,the headmaster is responsible for preparing all the lesson guides for the staff according to what I was taught back in the days at Yundum College.
The following day, as I was driving I met Samba Bah in traffic. I thought I was dreaming. The Independent reported on that day that Samba Bah was arrested and detained.Ofcourse he vehemently denied ever being arrested,however the Independent reported otherwise which is not unusual.
What is going on? I asked myself. Now I just read that Yankuba Touray was arrested and and I just passed Mr.Touray at the traffic light junction.Also arrested is Colonel Tamba for refusing to accept the position as CDC after it was posited by the same that he was the catalyst for the coup's failure.I see no sanity in this report.Lang Tombong everyone knows is one of the most loved men in uniform in this country and for any outlet to misrepresent facts about this noble man,you wonder what the motive is.
Preceeding the aforementioned,the death of Daba Marena or summary execution as the bantaba puts it.For the sake of his family and his children,the truth needs to be reported. I ask again, why was it being reported that Daba and his fello escapees were killed? I think we as Gambians have an obligation to ourselves and our God to report what is right if we have to. Divulging on issues which we do not have any authority or knowledge of is not only outright fabrication, but disgraceful and unwarranted.
I am sure not everyone can love President Jammeh, but why can’t we all love ourselves? Why can’t we love our own country? Gambians are so good about comparing the goodness of some countries to ours, but at times if only we can compare ourselves with others may be we will see The Gambia we are criticizing in ourselves.
May God bless our small nation and keep us away from folks whose lives are so messed up. May God keep us away from the folks who cannot see that may be the image they are seeing, is themselves and not the whole country!
