Interesting....I would guess that the mayor ordered the use of the
busses he had direct authority over. The lack of coordination between
the city and the schools in the area is a question that probably needs
to be re-visited. I'd be interested to know if the busses that were
used were full before the flooding got so serious that they couldn't be
used, and if they were, why school busses weren't used....
I also know that the author of the part that I forwarded does in fact
live in the New Orleans area, as she and I have talked in the past about
Mardi Gras, the Saints, and other issues specific to the area.
