I wish the best for you, Mike. :) As you said, it's a matter of
exercising our choices.
I remember when my mother was alive, she'd be urging me to find a man,
any man, just because she felt I couldn't make it on my own. That to me
was a major turn-off.
I got engaged to a uni classmate when I was at school, but he was killed
in a motorbike crash - he was on his way to see me up in N. Virginia and
was killed on a rainy highway by a drunken driver. That is the main
reason I am so against drinking and driving. I have dated a lot of men
since then but as I said earlier, I haven't found anyone I really want
to settle down with, and frankly, I like my life the way it is. I am
dating someone but it's a long-distance relationship, and I only see him
once or twice a month. He's an old friend I've known for many years. I
don't know how or where this will go, but I'm in no hurry. :) I'm too
old to have kids and I don't want any, so that's not an issue.
Yes, I do get lonely sometimes but I like my own company and a good
book, a phone call, or an IM chat usually helps with that. :)
