I must say, Meir's got good suggestions here. :)
Upon thinking on your situation some more, Michael, I'm also wondering
if your co-worker is jealous of you? Maybe he thinks you get too much
favouritism from your boss. If that's the case, the dept-wide ergonomic
study Meir is proposing should help lay some of that to rest.
As I said earlier, you have every right to ignore your co-worker when
he's acting like a bore. If his behaviour escalates to a physical
harrassment, you have every right to go to your boss and file a
grieviance.
Does your work place have diversity programs? If they do, by all means
particpate in them and then urge the group to sponsor an educational
program regarding the ADA and the ability of disabled employees to do as
good as jobs as able-bodied employees.
