Hi Bob,

*LOL* Butternut is a brand name....in particular, the antenna being
discussed (the HF-9V and its predecessor) are your basic quarter-wave
trapped vertical. Mind you, they're very *good* trapped verticals.

BTW, another option that I've never used but am intrigued by is the
MFJ-1798--claims no radials required, claims to work 80-2 meters.
