Hi Lou,

I' owned a TS-711 and its uhf twin from the mid 80's through the late 90's.
The rigs are extremely accessible.  Frequency and pl are read out using the
synthesizer.  In addition your mode is indicated with cw, l for lsb, u for
usb, c for cw, and a for auto mode.  The rigs can be tuned with a standard
bfo as well as using the same knob for click-stop tuning.  They were great
radios.
