Thank you so much to all who replied to my question regarding how much
corn starch to substitute for flour in gravy recipes. I was overwhelmed
by everyone's response! I have had over 80 replies in one day, so
cannot respond to each one of you individually, but thank you for all of
the replies.
Almost everyone said to cut the cornstarch amount by half of what the
regular flour amount is called for in the recipe. Many people said the
directions are on the box, but I never noticed that. Several people
also mentioned that they mix the cornstarch with another gf flour.. rice
flour, potato flour, etc, for improved taste.
Almost everyone reminded me to mix the cornstarch with a cool liquid
such as water, broth, or wine, before adding to my hot gravy, otherwise
it would clump too much. I had forgotten about that part!
Thanks to everyone again! Hope everyone that celebrates has a nice
holiday!
