It's hard to make a top crust for an apple pie, so I made this one up:
I make a crust with 1 cup of white rice or other Gf flour and a half stick
of butter, I mix them with my fingers in the pie pan and add a spoonful or
two of water, then spread it in the pan as best I can. Some of you may have
better pie crust recipes.
Next, fill the crust with sliced/diced fresh apples. If the apples aren't
tart, sprinkle on some lemon or lime juice. Fill in the gaps with walnuts
or pecans. Take a bottle of Karo dark corn syrup or maple flavored syrup
and look at the recipe for pecan pie on the back. Make up half the recipe
and pour it over everything else. Bake. People will beg for the recipe.
