Kathy,
Yes, I use REM for the nursing services my son receives. Where do you live? I live in Princeton, MN. I guess I don't really know what your issues are concerning your special child. But I do know from experience that having a child that requires special care is hard enough not to mention having to live with your parents on top of it, I've been there. .

When dealing with the politics of case workers and writing up plans or as I like to call it "jumping through the hoops", I feel like I've been through more than anyone should ever have to even know about. So please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions or maybe need some advise.

Tracie

I am thinking seriously about moving out. Currently, I am living with my
parents. Has anybody heard of REM, or The Mentor Network? They
provideSupportive Employment , Dayservice, and specially Services. I have
been talking with them since December. The problem is in January, I agreed
to a contract with my caseworker for this year. (Although , the contract
is not signed yet. I feel obligated to finish up this year with my current
plan. Because my caseworker has spent quite a bit of time setting up my
current plan.) I plan to tell my caseworker in June or later. I had a
meeting all set down for last Tuesday, but, I decided it was too
early. Yes, I have talked this over with my parents. They said they would
help me move tomorrow and they also would want foster Children to take over
my bedroom and basement. I would probably live with up to three other
roommates . (to help with costs.
