I was wondering whether you were able to get Firefox and Internet Explorer 7
working properly, when you installed these browsers.
(Personally, I might consider either one of these browsers a "fix" if they
worked, since I've grown rather dependent on a tabbed browser.)

Subject: Internet Explorer in Windows XP sarvice pack 2
With a brand new Dell Inspiron 530----2 gb ram, 250 gb harddrive, Internet
Explorer, and roadrunner e-mail, Suddenly, yesterday Internet Explorer would
not open any webpages, and the messages say "Page cannot be displayed. "
A Dell tech tried to open in Safe mode, also Installed Service pack 3,, shut
down firewall, installed I E- 7, on Firefox, ran Windows File Protection
,did a system restore, said the installed I E -6 was corrupt, uninstalled it
and reinstalled it , removed Win XP service pac 3, all no good to get I E to
open webpages.
Afier over two hours of "trying " the tech said I'd have to live with it, or
wipe the harddrive and start all over and MIGHT fix it. Surely some of you
knowledgeable subscribers know a solution and/or a fix for this problem.
I've also tried several of the suggestions on Google, and nothing fixed it
yet. Please help this old man with this problem.
THANKS
