No, this does not mean you MUST run 64 bit windows, it means it CAN run 64
bit windows. The 64 bit processors (almost all current Intel and AMD CPU's
are 64 bit capable), run 32 bit Windows and software just fine. The 64 bit
support is merely a set of extensions to the existing 32 bit instruction set.
